Maximizing the efficiency of urban home delivery, I have been involved in various different paths of research within this project, and I have also done a lot of work on a refrigeration system for a prototype vehicle to test hardware and modified procedures. 

 

I have performed numerous tests on both insulation materials and insulating systems for refrigerating food.  A recent design incorporates a store of dry ice below the payload area with a fan to encourage cycling of the air through the dry ice compartment. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The cabinet will be perfected and eventually trialled on the road in the prototype delivery vehicle.  We have used various different materials in the testing, as well as a number of different approaches to the problem of maintaining a specific temperature range within the payload area.
